South Dayton Knights (“SDK,” “we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth basketball program in Dayton, Ohio (EIN 20-8595728). This policy explains what information we collect through southdaytonknights.com (the “Site”), including the Ignite pages at southdaytonknights.com/ignite, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We keep the Site simple on purpose. We don’t run user accounts, we don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
1. Information we receive
Information you send us. The Site’s “Contact Us,” sponsorship, and Ignite recruiting links open an email to SDK. If you send one, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, such as your name, your child’s grade, or your business details. We use it only to reply to you and to run the program.
Information handled by our service providers. Some activities happen on other companies’ websites, which collect information under their own policies:
- TeamSnap (registration, tryouts, rosters, schedules). When you register a player, TeamSnap collects the information on the registration form, such as player and parent/guardian names, contact details, and any waiver or medical information the form requests. SDK receives that information as the program organizer.
- Stripe (sponsorship payments). If you pay for a sponsorship through a Stripe link, Stripe processes your payment details. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited information such as your name, email, billing details, and amount paid.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, and timestamps. This is used for security, reliability, and basic operations. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Team pages. The Winter Teams pages display team names and schedule and roster information that comes from TeamSnap. Players are shown by first name and last initial only. Coaches and team staff, who are adults acting in a public role, are shown by full name. We do not publish players’ contact details, birthdates, or any other information held on their TeamSnap records.
2. Children's privacy
SDK serves boys in grades 2–8. The Site is written for parents, guardians, sponsors, and coaches, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Player registration is completed by a parent or guardian through TeamSnap.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- run tryouts, form teams, and communicate with families;
- respond to questions and sponsorship or recruiting inquiries;
- process and acknowledge sponsorships;
- keep the Site secure and working;
- meet legal, insurance, and league requirements.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers who help us run the program (such as TeamSnap, Stripe, and our hosting provider), and only as needed for them to do that work;
- with leagues, tournaments, and insurers when required to register teams or process coverage; and
- when required by law, or to protect the safety of participants, the public, or SDK.
We do not give sponsors or other businesses the contact information of families.
5. Cookies
The Site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. Your browser or our hosting provider may use technical cookies or similar storage that are strictly necessary to deliver the Site. Third-party sites you visit through our links (such as TeamSnap and Stripe) may set their own cookies under their own policies.
6. How long we keep information
We keep emails and program records only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or archive them in line with our record-keeping and legal obligations.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, and we rely on established providers for registration and payments. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. To make a request, contact us. We may need to verify your identity first. For information held by TeamSnap or Stripe, you may also need to contact them directly.
9. Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites, including TeamSnap, Stripe, and our sponsors. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their privacy practices.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
